February 09 Contractor of the Month
Martin LonsberryLast month in Franklin, IN, Mercer contractor, Charles Woods, was securing his load when he slipped on the ice and took a serious knock to the head. Woods' fall resulted in an ambulance ride to the hospital and 12 stitches. His injury prevented him from being able to secure the load, but he still needed to deliver the cargo on time.
Nearby in Indianapolis, Mercer contractor, Martin Lonsberry, received a call from the Indianapolis agent office. He learned of Wood's condition and decided to drive off-route to lend a hand to the stranger. Woods, who didn't even catch Martin's name, recalls, "He showed up, finished loading and he did a fine job securing the load. All I had to do was get in and drive."
Woods says, "I owe him quite a bit. I'd be in a world of hurt if he didn't show up and help out. I can't thank him enough."
