Owner Operator Johnnie Grant says after more than 30 years of professional driving for several carriers, he is finally satisfied with Mercer.
Grant, of Dangerfield, Texas, says of his seasoned professional career, “I just like driving. It’s hard to explain. It just gets in your system and doesn’t get out. I love it and there’s nothing I’d rather do.”
He also couldn’t be happier with his current situation at Mercer.
“Mercer keeps me busy. I never have to worry about money; they are an honest company; really, I can’t say enough about them. They’re simply a great company to drive for. On a scale of 1-10, I’d easily give them a 10, if not better,” he says. “Mercer really reminds me of companies you worked for years ago, a company that really knows its people and works hard with a driver. Now days, it seems like it’s all about numbers,” adds Grant, who has been with Mercer for four years.
Grant also enjoys the fact that he gets to team with his son, Dale. “That’s one of my favorite parts about this job. My son and I are very close and we really enjoy each other’s company,” he says.
Thanks to the plenty of home time also available with Mercer, Grant is able to spend quality time with his family and friends. “Believe it or not, I enjoy spending time shopping with my wife. Other than that, I just like your average time off spending time with friends and relaxing a bit,” says Grant.
