This month’s Showusyourtruck.com Mercer winner is Jeffrey Dotts’ sturdy work truck, a 2004 Peterbilt 379. In the “Best of the Rest” category, Joseph Lins won with his fire engine red, ’96 Peterbilt 379.

Jeffrey Dott’s black Peterbilt shines on Mercer’s truck lot. It is a beautiful workingman’s truck, most notable for its neat and clean exterior and shiny paint job. Trucks like these make a good impression on Mercer’s customers and uphold Mercer’s reputation as being a successful, professional company. As the saying goes, “dress for success” - Often times in the trucking industry, the appearance of one's truck makes a lasting impression.

Dotts recently leased on to Mercer, and in less than a year, he was able to upgrade from a '99 KW T2000 to this limited edition Pete 379. Dotts says, "Everyone said it was a hard time to make money ... Well, I keep making it. I'd say the trick is to haul what most people don't want to haul. Working this way keeps my wheels turning so I can make more money." Dotts adds that he credits his success to trusting bond he has developed with his coordinator, Alice Brooks. "Once you have a good relationship with your coordinator, it is a lot easier. I consider Alice's decisions to be second to none. I allow her to book my loads and I trust her judgement." His 2004 Peterbilt 379x features a 550 CAT engine and a 273” wheelbase. Compared to his old truck, Dotts says the Peterbilt has more storage and cabinet space and a smoother ride.

Joseph Lins’ ’96 Peterbilt 379 is an absolute showstopper. Lins purchased the Peterbilt last September with plans of remodeling it to resemble his dream truck. He’s been using the truck to haul freight, and is currently ready to embark on his renovation plans. The truck, pictured in its current state, will soon have a brand new look, but it didn’t stop us from choosing it as a winner. Even now, it is a sharp looking rig.

Lins’ truck is a 379 model with an extended hood, 550 CAT engine, 18-speed transmission and 36” sleeper. Check back in - perhaps we’ll have photos of this truck after its big makeover!
