Laura Ender

Laura Meet Laura, Recruiting's New Administrative Assistant!

Recently, Laura Ender transferred from the permit department to start fresh in recruiting as the department's administrative assistant. Chances are, if you're new to Mercer, Laura is the one who booked your hotel room, ordered your lunch while you were in orientation, and created your company ID card. As if that wasn't enough of a handful, she helps plan events like Top Ten and the Hawthorn Picnic, processes driver referrals and basically keeps the department running smoothly. For those who have not had the pleasure of meeting Laura, she was eager to share a little bit about herself.

Q: What inspires you?
A: Being surrounded by positive people.

Q: What are your hobbies and interests?
A: Meeting new people, hanging out with my friends and shopping. My newest interest is my new Golden Retriever puppy, Benson.

Q: What are your plans for this weekend?
A: Going Christmas shopping. I have my first Christmas related event this weekend- a family reunion. I have a really tight-knit family and we get together twice a year.

Q: What are you afraid of?
A: Crickets! Big basement crickets. I have them in my garage and it is very dark and they jump on me. I think I hate them more than I'm scared of them. I don't step on them because I'm afraid to hear the crunch.

Q: What did you have for dinner last night?
A: KFC. Fried chicken, mashed potatoes and a biscuit.

Q: Finish this sentence ..."You would be very surprised to find out that I ..."
A: ...was a goth girl in high school! Also, I was in the horticulture program in school-Future Farmers of America.

Q: What is your "guilty pleasure" song?
A: Living on a Prayer by Bon Jovi.

Q: What do you love most about working at Mercer?
A: Its like a family- and I feel like I'm part of this family. Also, I love the creative things I get to do, like plan this year's Top Ten and pick out promotional items like Mercer Christmas ornaments.
