November '09 Contractors of the Month

This month, Mercer contractor, Chuck Morgan, nominated fellow contractors Ken Benham and Wayne Dollar as contractors of the Month. Morgan is thankful that these two strangers took the time to lend a hand and help fix up his truck when he was stranded at an El Paso, Texas.

Here's Chuck's story:

"Three weeks ago, I went to the Petro in El Paso to have work done on my truck. I had a whole lot of things that needed maintenance and fixing: starter, window, airbag and headlights.

I saw two Mercer trucks in the lot, so I parked next to them. The drivers were out shining their trucks, with the hoods up, working on them. I later found out they were Ken Benham and Wayne Dollar. We talked for a bit and I told them what was wrong with my truck.

Well, they offered to help me out and repair the truck. When they jumped in, it was such a relief. All of us got our toolboxes out - they had more tools than me. See, we were all mercerized, and they didn't think much of helping another Mercer driver out.

Two days later and two buffet dinners later, they fixed me up. I paid less than $300 for parts and in the end, I was left with a nearly new truck. We had such a good time. "

Thanks Wayne and Ken for being so generous and helpful to a fellow Mercer contractor. It is guys like them that give us the reputation for having such a wonderful family atmosphere.

Chuck would like to add, "P.S. Thanks guys for keeping me from getting married at 2 AM."
