October '09 Showusyourtruck.com Winners

This month's Showusyourtruck.com winning Mercer truck is Bill Haynes' "Just an ol' log truck", a '97 Pete 379. The "Best of the Rest" glory goes to Jeff Bone's "Rumble Bee", an '07 Pete 379.

Bill Hayne's truck spent some time hauling logs out west before coming to Mercer.

Bill Haynes '97 Peterbilt is a tried and true old work truck, who spent it's early career hauling logs through the treacherous, winding mountains out West.

Hayne's Pete is a 379 with a B model CAT engine and 18 speed transmission. Haynes bought the truck in 1998 and it had 72,000 miles on it. 11 years later the truck has 1,016,840 miles on it. Bill notes, "Half a million of those miles were spent in the woods where some people wouldn't even take a four wheel drive." Now retired from the logging business, the Old Pete still holds it's own out on the road hauling Mercer freight in all 48 states.

  Jeff Bone's "Rumble Bee"

In the non-Mercer category, the winning truck was "Rumble Bee", submitted by owner Jeff Bone from Greenfield, IL. "Rumble Bee" sure makes a statement with it's lemon yellow paint and sky high stacks.

This truck is a 2007 370 Peterbilt, with a 550 Cat engine, and 18 speed transmission. The truck features 8" exhaust, Gangster Fiber Glass fenders, custom stereo system, 359 headlights, 22" American Eagle bumper with frenched-in plate. Wow, that's a sharp lookin' truck!
