SUYT January Winners

This month, the winners at Showusyourtruck.com are two bona fide working trucks, outfitted with all of conveniences and comforts that make the perfect “home away from home.” In the Mercer Transportation category, John Csenger won with his “Old School Cool” 1987 Peterbilt 359. The “Best of the Rest” prize went to Michael Barrett, for his 1981 Kenworth W900L.

Csenger, who leased onto Mercer last April, has put two million miles on his truck. Given all of the time spent inside his sleeper, it is no wonder he has customized the living quarters to include the basic necessities of home. “It’s like a studio apartment on wheels,” he jokes.
“Old School Cool” features a 110” Double Eagle sleeper with shower, toilet, satellite TV, generator and rear door. Csenger keeps the exterior shining, even in the harsh New Hampshire winters. The truck’s orange and black paint scheme is highlighted with polished aluminum and stainless steel accents.

Michael Barrett, of M Barrett Co., lovingly refers to his rig as “Mike’s Headache.” When he purchased the truck, it was a homely hue of lavender, the paint was peeling and the motor was shot. After a good dose of TLC, Mike’s “headache” has blossomed into an awesome truck, worthy of a hard days work.

The truck, driven by Mike Nerren, gets lots of looks out on the road. The antique Kenworth stands out with the freshly painted green and white vintage paint scheme. This is one of five trucks on Barrett’s fleet, and it can be spotted hauling freight from Texas to Wyoming every week.
